The Bible gives a simple and powerful explanation of how we can have peace with God and eternal life through Jesus Christ.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23
No matter who we are or how good we try to be, we all fall short of God’s perfect standard. Sin separates us from God, and we cannot earn our way back to Him through our own efforts.
“For the wages of sin is death…” — Romans 6:23a
Just like working earns a wage, sin earns a consequence: spiritual death and separation from God forever. That is the bad news. But God, in His love, did not leave us there.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8
Even though we did not deserve it, Jesus Christ died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. He paid the price we could never pay.
“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23b
Salvation is not something we can earn—it is a gift. Jesus offers eternal life to anyone who will believe in Him and receive what He has done.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” — Romans 10:9
Come to God in faith, believing that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. When you trust Jesus as Saviour, you are forgiven and made new in Him.
A promise you can know
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…”
— 1 John 5:13
You do not have to merely hope you are saved. God promises eternal life to all who believe in His Son.
There is no magic prayer. Talk to God from your heart. Admit that you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died and rose again for you, and trust Him as your Saviour. Then tell someone important in your life—and let us know so we can pray for you and support you in your Christian walk.
